Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Jigra. Ahead of release, she is going to different cities and promoting the movie. After Delhi, Alia jetted off to Hyderabad where Samantha Ruth Prabhu came to support her. When Alia addressed the audience, she praised Telugu audience and shared how daughter Raha loves grooving on Naatu Naatu from RRR.

During a promotional event for her upcoming film Jigra, Alia shared, “Naatu Naatu actually plays in my house every day. Raha, my daughter, loves Naatu Naatu. She plays the song and says, ‘Mama, play Naatu Naatu,’ then we play the song, and she says, ‘Mama, come here,’ and she makes me stand against some support, and then we do the step.” She then added, “Obviously, she doesn’t know how to do the step, but she has seen my clip doing Naatu Naatu from some award function and says, ‘Show Mama’s video doing Naatu Naatu.’
The pre-release event of Jigra saw special attendance from Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Trivikram Srinivas and Rana Daggubati. Praising the Telugu audience, she remarked, “Telugu audience are superior in loving good films. Everyone else comes next. And that is why we released Gangubai [Kathiawadi] and Brahmastra in Telugu. And now, Jigra and I am really hoping that the love I received in the last couple of years also goes to our little film, Jigra. Vasan sir said it earlier that Jigra means courage. But, Jigra is also somebody who you love a lot.”
About Jigra
Jigra trailer is about a sister Satya who goes to any length to bring back her brother Ankur home. Ankur has been arrested for a crime and Satya makes a plan to break him out from the prison. Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is presented by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions. Jigra is slated to release in Hindi & Telugu – in cinemas on 11th October.
On the work front, Alia also has YRF’s Alpha with Sharvari. YRF’s first female spy movie is scheduled for release on Christmas 2024. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War in her lineup.
